RAMBEAUX RANTS

"I want to be mysterious but I can't seem to shut the f*%k up"… and that pretty much summarizes this blog. Welcome!

  • Writing used to be such a big part of my life. Short stories, articles for my fake magazine and full songs when I was younger. Blogspot and Tumblr throughout my teen years/early 20’s. I was in AP literature classes, excelled at essays and for 3 years, killed it in my high school journalism elective. At 31? I don’t make much time for this hobby because I’m consumed by the demands of being an adult and I’m a victim of the never-ending scroll. My “best work” as of late are a few lengthy texts to some man I briefly dated and sporadic journal entries, lmao. I’m dying to spend more of my online time writing for fun and mental stimulation again. Big Brain Rot™️ can’t win. Returning to blogging (OG Style) is my tiny little act of resistance to what the internet is now. That sounds dramatic but it’s not. TikTok trends vanish in 24 hours, Instagram pushes aesthetic homogeneity, and Twitter thrives on outrage bait. Long-form writing is a quiet rebellion. I’d like to think that blogging prioritizes thoughtfulness over virality. There’s no algorithm to feed. Your ideas have space to breathe. You don’t have to compress yourself and it’s harder for nuance to be lost. In a time when it feels like there’s a war on education and a rise of anti-intellectualism, I believe that it’s incredibly important to intentionally resist falling into the trap. Gotta keep yourself sharp and not in daunting boring ways that feel like a chore, because LISTEN… I’m not setting out to publish scholarly level blog entries. This is a little shenanigan that will be filled with random topics, typos, improper usage of punctuation and made-up words but in a world of “I’m not reading all of that”, it’s a little shenanigan that’s much needed. -XO
